Bear Country

We spent a week in the eastern Sierra Mountains. Glacial lakes, mountain hikes, deer, rabbits, and two bears! Here’s a poem for you.

Bear Country

Brown mother, ground
of our being, rich 

nourishment. I sing 
to you, O Earth,
     
     o roundness, o womb.
