Hi Kortney. I saw your initial note after reading Margaret's 24hour abecedarian which inspired me to write my own. I posted it just yesterday. I've read yours now too and it's beautiful. What a way to ponder on the seasons.

I think the best thing for me to do is write a post and link to you. I ended up writing a narrative abecedarian. It isn’t very good, but in a show of encouragement to others I’ll post it anyway. 😂

So many gorgeous moments in your poem (too many to count), but a couple that stand out:

"Peace of the wells, peace of the springs,

Peace of the hare sleeping in burdock."

and

"The season itself teaches you how to live.

Empty your hands. Let go of sunlight

and leaves. Welcome the gray sky."

It's always so interesting to see what catches people's eye! The peace lines are from a much longer piece about St Brigid.

Applause applause!! What a lovely series! (and I love seeing some of those familiar lines in this new context)

I wondered if you might recognize them. I didn't write much new, maybe 8 letters? Everything else was stolen!

Kortney, your microseasons poems are so lovely! I'm going to be savoring them all week.

I did finally get a fragment posted tonight-- not a full poem, that was too ambitious. It's been a very busy weekend and a chaotic day.

Oh, Ann! I savor you. Thank you for teaching me about the microseasons and for investigating them with open eyes and an open heart. I'm going to make a little zine of some of these poems that you could print and tuck in a pocket to take with you on a ramble.

Kortney, this is lovely! Thanks for sharing. I’m going to pay more attention to the micro changes as the year turns. And I appreciate that you tagged me, even though my life this week didn’t include time to bring anything to completion, it was fun to contemplate!

Funny, my life had space for this bit of play and then on Saturday things shifted and the space evaporated. I felt the need to see through to some sort of completion. But all too quickly, the demands of life pushed in.

I can't wait to see what you create next!
