I love this rabbit trail! I've been thinking a lot about the conversation between authors that emerges from following trails like this. Thank you for sharing.

I’m using Sarah Urist Greene’s YOU ARE AN ARTIST book of visual art prompts as poetry prompts each day. I’m also diving into some newish poetry anthologies I got, starting with JOY edited by Christian Wiman, and though I’m only at the beginning, it’s worth it already for the introduction Wiman wrote. Happy NPM!

Also all those Rothenberg anthologies are sweet, but my favorite is Shaking The Pumpkin, featuring one of my fave poems, The Invisible Men by Nakasuk.

I adore going down rabbit trails. There is really richness there, and it feels like you've been panning for gold and then thrillingly find a nugget.

I think it's a sign from the universe that I chose April to start writing again without knowing that it's the month of poetry. Thank you for the resources! I'm collecting a bunch of them as I go and I'm happy to add more.

I love rabbit trails! Tonight I decided to sit with the Hass video. I love it! The way to think of lines and sketching poems. So much of it sounds like what I've already been doing, but Hass gives me some vocabulary and structure to think about it more deeply. Thank you so much.

So glad you watched! I remembered it from years ago, maybe 2015? And then watched again on Saturday, ending up with a few interesting lines and a quatrain that I like. Also planning to pull Technicians off my shelf. I have an old edition that has never quite spoke to me in the same way that Hass and Cave describe, but I am excited to try again.

Oh the strange rabbit of April! Are there wild bunnies where you live? Here they are out early and late. I will think of you every time I see one 🐇
